Pigments dispersion
Interchip S.A. specialises in the production of pigment dispersions in a wide range of resins, both with and without plasticizers.
Our “chips” are at the forefront of dispersion technology.
The chips are pigments dispersed in resins at very high concentrations and sold in flake form.
This means that they provide great formulation flexibility.
They are ready for use and do not require milling: they can simply be added to the stirred liquid mix to be coloured, they quickly dissolve and the pigment is dispersed throughout the mass to give a uniformly coloured product.
Using chips the final product obtained is of a much higher quality than one prepared using powder pigments dispersed by other systems.
It is widely known that the finer the pigment dispersed, the better the quality of the final product. It has been established that the way to achieve the best fineness of pigment is by using the processes which lead to chip formation.
This is due to the separation of the pigment powder agglomerates into individual pigment particles; and these are encapsulated singly, in a moist condition, within the resin. If dispersion is attempted by using other milling systems on the powdered pigments, we find that the same results are rarely achieved.
